Leon opens site on London's Cheapside

Healthy fast food chain Leon has opened a new site on London's Cheapside, near St Paul's Cathedral and the One New Change shopping centre.

The 21-cover venue opened on 5 October and is the sixth new location from the group this year. The company's 27th site overall, it comes just months after the firm announced plans to open another 19 sites by 2016.

Founded in 2004 by John Vincent and Henry Dimbleby (pictured), Leon offers a varied menu aiming to be healthy but fast, including meatball and pots, grilled halloumi, superfood salads, roast chicken wraps and burgers, roasted aubergine sides, baked fries and flatbreads.

Beth Emmens, property acquisitions manager at Leon, commented: "It's great to be able to bring food that does you good to such a busy and beautiful part of the city - Bev and her team at Cheapside cannot wait to meet everyone."

The group first announced a pre-tax profit in 2014, and at the end of last year had six sites operating through its franchisee HMS Host, which specialises in transport hubs such as train stations.
