New Moon Company to open New Bronx Bar & Pizzeteria

The New Moon Company is to open a bar and restaurant, the Bronx Bar & Pizzeteria, in Knutsford in Cheshire, in November.

Created by restaurateur Paul Newman, and chef-patron David Mooney (pictured), this will be the group's eighth site. It will be located on the town's Princess Street, just down the road from the New Moon Company's Old Sessions House.

Drinks will include a variety of cocktails, and the food menu will focus on small pizzas called pizzettas. The interior design is by DV8 Designs, and has been inspired by the New York boroughs, aiming to give a cool, laid-back, ‘down and dirty' feel.

Commenting on the new opening, Newman said: "Knutsford has always been about food, but now it can be a little about wet stuff rather than just solids; a cool alternative to our customers' nights."

Mooney added: "Shit-hot cocktails and dead small pizzas in a cool place your grandmother wouldn't be seen dead at. We cannot wait to open our doors."

Based in the North West, the New Moon Company (formerly the New Moon Pub Company) opened its first site, the Lord Binning in Kelsall, Cheshire in 2011. It now operates seven sites.

Its other Cheshire locations are the Mockingbird Taproom in Chester, and the Casa Matta Ristorante & Pizzeria in Weaverham, while it also operates the Old Blind School in Liverpool, the Beef and Pudding in Manchester, and the Montgomery Pub and Kitchen in Eastham Village, Wirral.
