Prezzo to open 11 more restaurants

Prezzo is to open another 11 restaurants in the run-up to the New Year.

The new sites in Farnborough, Blackpool, Wickford, Staines, Newport, Redditch, Yate, Bridgnorth, Abergavenny, Tewkesbury and Malvern will take the total number of restaurants under the Prezzo brand to 230.

Overall, the company will have 270 sites, including its Chimichanga brand.

Prezzo interim chief executive Dirk Eller said: "We are delighted to be opening 11 new restaurants by year end and creating so many additional jobs.

"The restaurants are in locations where we are not yet represented and we look forward to opening our doors and welcoming in many new guests.

"Our restaurants continue to prove very popular and we believe there is significant scope to open more Prezzo restaurants in the months and years to come."

Texas private equity firm TPG Capital bought Prezzo at the start of this year, with co-founder Jonathan Kaye stepping down to a non-executive role in June this year.

He founded the company with his family 14 years ago and together they pocketed £173m for their combined 57% stake in the business, following a £304m acquisition.
