Meat Liquor to open in new Boxpark Croydon as part of expansion drive
Meat Liquor, the American-style burger and chicken wings restaurant group, has announced plans to open in Boxpark Croydon in June 2016 as part of a wider expansion drive this year and next.
The Croydon site will be set across four shipping container units, which will in turn be connected to a two-storey glass "drinking box". Both the design of the space and the menu are expected to have a localised theme, although the exact details are yet to be confirmed.
The opening will take place in the wake of the new Meat Liquor Islington (pictured) and Bristol sites, which began trading earlier this month.
The group's signature menu includes dishes such as the Dead Hippie burger, deep fried pickles and the Chicken Cheesburger, plus chicken skewers, hot dogs, and indulgent desserts and shakes.
Co-founder Scott Collins said: "After Leeds, Singapore and Islington, we feel Croydon is the obvious next step. Our roots are in South London so it's a homecoming of sorts. What the team are doing with BoxPark Croydon is pretty ballsy. We like that."
Founded as a street food van in 2009 by Scott Collins and Yianni Papoutsis, Meat Liquor also has locations in Leeds and Brighton, and recently opened in Singapore. It also operates the London sites Meat Mission in Hoxton, Meat Market in Covent Garden and Chicken Liquor in Brixton.
