Openings: Rudie's
Casual-dining restaurant Rudie's opened last month in Dalston, north London, boasting a sharing-style menu that showcases the best of Jamaican cooking. The new venue features ‘real jerk' dishes alongside innovative small plates inspired by traditional Jamaican cooking with a contemporary twist, as well as cocktails and Jamaican music in a relaxed environment.
The ‘real jerk' dishes are marinated for 24 hours in a blend of herbs and spices, smoked using pimento and sweet wood, and then cooked over coals in traditional jerk drums. Patties, the Jamaican-style street food, also feature on the menu, including a special spiced lobster variety.
