Foodservice Catey winner Global Infusion Group supports MSF Christmas party

The Global Infusion Group (GIG), which won the Event Caterer of the Year Award at the 2015 Foodservice Cateys, has supported the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Christmas party for the second year running.

The group's corporate and private party planning, catering and event design division, named GIG…fyi (Feeding Your Imagination), donated furniture, drinks, glasses, and pie and mash to the 130 MSF staff at the event, in association with Proper Productions.

GIG…fyi also provided staff at cost, while KNM Catering provided West African delicacies, and the full bar was donated by the Planet of the Grapes, with two mini kegs of beer free from Haresfoot Brewery.

GIG works globally at over 3,000 events each year, including at the Merriweather Pavilion in the US, sites on the ice fields of Inner Mongolia, as well as race tracks and fashion houses in China.

Katy Turner, operations manager for GIG…fyi, said: "We were delighted to get involved in MSF's Christmas party for the second year. We take our corporate social responsibility very seriously so it's great to be able to give something back to inspirational charities like MSF who work tirelessly to carry out lifesaving work around the world."

MSF works in over 60 countries worldwide, helping refugees, victims of natural or man-made disasters, those suffering from distress, or people affected by armed conflict.

Vickie Hawkins, executive director, MSF UK, commented on the event, saying: "[Many of our team] are now providing healthcare in the midst of the conflict, while others are along the escape routes and in the camps that house people fleeing the many conflicts that threaten their lives. So it is wonderful for us to have this time together."

Hawkins also congratulated all the teams involved in the party, and commended her staff for their work abroad over the past 12 months, including their contribution in to helping to end the Ebola outbreak.
