Met Police launches appeal after hotel lobby assault
The Metropolitan Police has today launched an appeal for information after CCTV footage showed a man knocking another man unconscious in a hotel lobby.
Footage from the CCTV cameras at the three-star, 280-bedroom Custom House hotel in Newham, east London, showed an as-yet unidentified man take the 37-year-old victim's neck in his arm and aim to punch his jaw. The victim is then seen to fall onto the hotel's reception desk before collapsing to the floor, as reported on the London Evening Standard website.
The attack happened just before midnight on 19 September, and the appeal has only been launched now at the request of the Met Police investigating officers, who have made the information public in a bid to make progress with their enquiries.
The appeal stated: "The suspect is described as a white man wearing black shorts, black ankle boots, white/grey trainers, a baseball cap and a black top with a logo on the rear stating ‘No91 Criminal Damage London'".
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 020 8217 5039 quoting reference number 198721 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
