Thurlestone hotel appoints Kevin Keenan as GM

The four-silver-AA-star Thurlestone hotel in Thurlestone, Devon, has appointed Kevin Keenan as general manager.

Keenan joins the Thurlestone hotel, which has been owned by the Grose family for 120 years, from the Green Hotel, Golf & Leisure Resort in Kinross, Perthshire.

He previously worked for the Grose family as general manager at the Dryburgh Abbey hotel, Melrose, Roxburghshire, from 2003 to 2007 when it was under the family's ownership.

Having started his career with a travel agency in Edinburgh, Keenan has gone on to hold general manager roles with Green King Brewing; Rusacks hotel, St Andrews; and the Mercure Brighton Seafront.

Matthew Grose, the hotel's managing director, said: "We had all hoped our paths might cross again after working together at Dryburgh Abbey, so we are delighted to welcome Kevin south of the border.

"He's got some fantastic experience behind him and is ideally placed to help take full advantage of some of the big developments that are coming up in 2016, and to help the hotel continue to go from strength to strength."

Located within a 19-acre estate, the Thurlestone hotel offers the Voyage spa and a nine-hole golf course.
