Louvre Hotels appoints director of operations for UK and Iberia
Louvre Hotels Group has promoted Mark Aldridge to the role of director of operations for UK and Iberia as he marks 10 years with the company.
In his new role Aldridge will oversee the performance of 37 Campanile hotels in the UK, Spain and Portugal.
He joined the group as head of operations for the UK in 2006, and was promoted to head of operations for northern Europe in 2014, heading a 900-strong team that generated a £34m turnover in the last financial year. Before joining Louvre Hotels he spent four years at Peel Hotels as operations manager.
Aldridge said: "I'm delighted to celebrate my 10th year at Louvre Hotels Group with a different challenge. The hospitality industry is a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and in the 10 years I've been here people's expectations of what they want from a hotel has changed.
"The UK, Spain and Portugal are very different culturally, so I'm interested to see how we can develop our hotel business in these countries in line with the communities that they sit in, whether that's mixing up the food menus and TV content, or identifying new hotel locations."
Louvre Hotels Group comprises six hotel brands - Royal Tulip, Golden Tulip, Tulip Inn, Kyriad, Campanile and Premiere Classe. Louvre has 18 hotels across the UK, 17 of which are Campanile and one is Premiere Classe. It operates across 1,100 hotels in 47 countries.
The group opened 60 new venues in 2014, and is expanding with 60 to 75 new hotels every year.
