Sticks'n'Sushi to open three more UK restaurants

Danish restaurant group Sticks'n'Sushi is to open three more UK restaurants, in Cambridge, Oxford and London's Victoria.

The new sites will almost double the brand's presence in the UK.

It already has London restaurants in Wimbledon, Covent Garden, Greenwich and Canary Wharf, which will be joined in May 2016 by a new site in Cambridge in the Guildhall building.

A restaurant in London's Nova development in Victoria will open in autumn 2016, followed by another in Westgate in Oxford in 2017.

Meanwhile, Sticks'n'Sushi is also set to open a 12th restaurant in Denmark, in the Copenhagen area in March this year, as well as opening its first restaurant in Germany, in Berlin, in winter 2016.

By the end of this calendar year the group will operate 19 restaurants in three countries.

To help manage the expansion, the company has appointed two new board members - Rod McKie and Siri Lande.

McKie, is CEO of Welcome Break and has worked for other brands including TGI Fridays, Coffee Republic and Pret A Manger, as well as being non-executive chairman of Tossed, the healthy eating concept. Lande is a senior vice-president of Danske Bank.

Sticks'n'Sushi offers a menu of sushi alongside a selection of chicken, pork, beef, lamb and vegetable yakitori. It was founded 22 years ago by brothers Kim & Jens Rahbek together with Thor Andersen.
