Christian Heppe, founder of Hildon Water, dies

Natural mineral water company Hildon has announced that its founder and CEO Christian Heppe passed away peacefully at the weekend.

The company's website announced the news, saying: "Heppe was the driving force behind the company for 26 years and will be deeply missed. Hildon will continue to trade as normal ensuring his legacy and his vision live on."

The company has extended its condolences to all his family and friends.

When the Heppe family bought the Hildon Estate they set about bottling the pure water, sourced from the underground aquifer below the estate, with the Hildon brand launching in 1989.

In 2000 The Hildon Foundation was set up to give something back to the communities that live around the Hildon Estate and was given charitable status and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2014.
