First Hub by Premier Inn outside London opens in Edinburgh

The first Hub by Premier Inn outside London has opened in Edinburgh as part of a dual hotel development from Whitbread in the Old Town.

Edinburgh's New Waverley development will include a combined total of 248 rooms across a new Premier Inn and Hub by Premier Inn, Whitbread's new compact hotel brand.

Linking the city's New Street/East Market Street area and Waverley Station with the Royal Mile, the £150m development delivered by Artisan Real Estate Investors incorporates restaurants, retail space, homes and offices.

Clive Wilding, project director for New Waverley, said: "The opening of the two Whitbread hotels at New Waverley marks an exciting turning point for the regeneration of this historic part of Edinburgh's Old Town. It's been a great working partnership with Whitbread, and together we are at last breathing new life into what has been a neglected part of Edinburgh's historic city centre."
