St James's hotel appoints new managing director
The five-red-AA-star St James's hotel and club near Mayfair has appointed Anjana Pandya as the new managing director to oversee the 60-bedroom property.
She is believed to be the first Asian female in London to be appointed to such a role and has taken over from Graham Copeman who departed last month. Copeman has since joined the Zetter Group as group hotel director.
She started her career as the accounts clerk at Greaves Travel in 1985. Since then she has worked at a variety of brands including Home House, Champneys and Sheraton.
A spokesperson for the hotel said Pandya is "perfectly positioned" to lead the St James's team.
"She is well known for her creative flair, tenacious attitude and intuitive leadership skills," the spokesperson said.
St James's hotel includes the Michelin-starred restaurant Seven Park Place by William Drabble.
