Jeremy Clarkson ‘punch-up' hotel sold
Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson punched one of the BBC TV show's producers - has been sold off a guide price of £995,000.
Colliers International, the property company which marketed the property, confirmed the 18-bedroom hotel set in two acres of grounds in Hawes had been sold, but did not reveal the name of the new owner.
However, Simonstone Hall Hotel Ltd - a new company incorporated on 25 February at Companies House - is headed by director Jake Dinsdale, an architect, and company secretary, Paul Miller.
Michael Cannon, the former owner of the hotel, bought Simonstone in 1996 when he acquired shooting interests in the area. He decided to sell the hotel after moving his sole focus to the Wemmergill Estate in County Durham.
The sale of Simonstone Hall is one of five hotel deals completed by Colliers International in Yorkshire and the north-east in recent weeks. The company has also sold the Beverley Arms hotel in Beverley to brewery Daniel Thwaites; the Best Western Kings Head hotel in Richmond to the Coaching Inn Group for around £2m; the Morritt Spa hotel and wedding venue, near Barnard Castle to North of England Estates; and the Three Horses Shoes in Running Waters, County Durham to Key Inns.
