AA appoints new head of hotel services

The AA has appointed Peter Laigaard Jensen as the new head of hotel services to replace Simon Numphud, who left the company earlier this year.

After 18 years at the guidebook publishers, Numphud has taken up the position of director of sales for independent food procurement company PSL.

His replacement will oversee the overall management of AA inspections and head office teams.

Laigaard Jensen's hospitality career has seen him work all over the world in a variety of roles including executive chef, general manager, director of services for a North Pole airforce base and country operations manager for an international hotel chain.

He started his hospitality career by washing dishes in hotels back in his home country Denmark and has worked his way up since then.

Kirsty Lloyd-Jukes, AA membership services director, said: "We are thrilled to be welcoming Peter Laigaard Jensen as head of AA hotel services. His extensive experience brings a wealth of opportunities that will enhance this unique business and enable the brand to grow within the hospitality sector."
