Charterhouse Leisure sees sales grow 20%

Coal Bar and Grill operator Charterhouse Leisure, has reported sales growth of 19.6% to £12.2m for the year to February 2016.

The group, which also runs Severnsheds, said that site EBITDA was up 12.5% to £1.8m.

Group EBITDA was up 22.9% at £1.094m.

Charterhouse operated 10 sites at the end of the financial year with two more under contract.

Founder and chief executive John Gater said: "This was a year of working with our teams to consolidate our performance, develop our customer engagement, improve our marketing and prepare ourselves for a period of growth.

"I am delighted that we now have two sites under contract and confirm that negotiations are developing well on many more sites across the country where we can expand the Coal Grill and Bar brand."

The company has appointed Christie & Co to review strategic options for the business.
