Koh Thai Tapas targets 40 sites
Thai restaurant chain Koh Thai Tapas has announced a new target of 40 sites opened or in the pipeline by 2021.
The news comes as the company revealed that it had secured its 10th restaurant, this time Winchester, on Jewry Street.
The venue will be the company's second site in Hampshire.
Koh Thai Tapas added that it expected that a "series of acquisitions" to completed soon, with two sites exchanged upon and five more in advanced legals, confirming the group's pipeline until 2018.
The new restaurant in Winchester will be the third of the group's smaller Koh Noi concept of with a bar area and around 50 covers, offering Thai tapas and cocktails.
The company aims to average around four to five openings per year through a combination Koh Thai Tapas and Koh Noi venues.
Koh founder and CEO Andrew Lennox said: "Winchester is a city that has been in our sights for over three years, we have looked at countless sites in the city but none of them have ever been right. To be on Jewry Street, with a small bar led site having acquired the main Thai competition in the city is a dream combination and we are really excited about bringing our signature Thai Tapas experience to the town. We are also excited that this will be our third Koh Noi - Good things do come in small packages."
Koh Thai Tapas acquired Bangkok Brasserie on 33 Jewry Street from Winchester restaurateur Miff Kayum and the site sits near Wagamama, Loch Fyne and Brasserie Blanc.
Chris Bickle of Savills acted on the deal.
