Fred Sirieix wins a Bafta with First Dates

Front of house maestro Fred Sirieix, winner of the 2013 Manager of the Year Catey, now has another accolade under his belt as First Dates scooped a Bafta last night (8 May).

Filmed at the Paternoster Chop House restaurant in central London, First Dates originally aired in 2013 and recently completed its sixth series.

The show walked away with the reality and constructed factual award at this year's House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards hosted by Graham Norton at London's Royal Festival Hall.

This was the third nomination for First Dates and it saw off tough competition from I'm A Celebrity, Gogglebox and the Secret Life of Five-Year-Olds.

Commenting about working on First Dates, Sirieix said: "I've really enjoyed it, it's been a great learning curve for me.

"But one thing is it reminds me of what is important in life, in business, in love is to have a clear vision, common values, make a lot of effort and of course compromise and that's what we've been doing."

Earlier this year the French maÁ®tre d' was presented with a British Citizen Award in recognition for his work with Galvin's Chance and the Clean Slate, his prison pop-up.
Sirieix joined forces with The Caterer at the end of 2015 to launch a comprehensive service training tool. Working with online training company Gravy for the Brain, he has created the Art of Service, which allows anybody from waiting staff to restaurant managers to hone their service skills using video and interactive Q&A.

He will be among the experts and operators addressing the latest innovations in hospitality at http://www.catererdigitalsummit.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">The Caterer's Digital Summit on 25 May at Kings Place.
