London hotels record flat performance in April
Hotel performance in London hotels during April was relatively flat compared with the same month in 2015, according to preliminary data from hotel data company STR.
Occupancy fell by 0.7% to 80%, while average daily rate and revenue per available room showed increases of 0.9% to £136.22 and 0.2% to £109.04 respectively.
The slight drop in occupancy stems from the fact that although there was a 1.7% rise in demand, it was not enough to offset the 2.3% increase in hotel supply during April.
