Michelin-starred chefs Quique Dacosta and Nacho Manzano launch series of Iberica dinners
Three-Michelin-starred Spanish chef Quique Dacosta has been cooking up a storm alongside two-Michelin-starred chef Nacho Manzano, executive chef of Iberica restaurants in the UK.
With seven Michelin stars between them - Dacosta has three-stars for Quique Dacosta restaurant in Alicante, Spain and one-star for El Poblet, Valencia, Spain, while Manzano has two-stars at Casa Marcial and one-star for La Salgar both in Asturias, Spain - the chefs joined forces for the first in a series of ‘Nacho & friends' evenings, last Monday.
The day started with a Dacosta masterclass at Westminster Kingsway College, London, where the chef demonstrated three of his four dishes planned for the evening meal to students and invited guests in the college's demonstration theatre.
Combined with four dishes from Manzano, the dinner at Iberica Victoria, London was colourful and artistic, showcasing dishes that Dacosta described as: "Unique, but true to traditional Spanish recipes and ingredients."
Guests at the dinner were told that in spite of 16 million tourists visiting Spain in 2015, the objective of bringing Michelin-starred chefs to the UK to cook with Manzano was to encourage more visitors to venture further afield and experience the real food of Spain.
Dacosta cooked alongside his head chef Ricard Tobella from Restaurant Quique Dacosta and Manzano was partnered by Cesar Garcia, head chef of Iberica Restaurants.
