Irish hotel group enters UK with Cambridge property
O'Callaghan Hotels Group will open its first UK hotel in Cambridge next spring.
The Tamburlaine in the new CB1 city quarter development around Cambridge railway station will be designed to appeal to locals as well as both leisure and business travellers.
The 155-bedoom hotel will include a restaurant, bar and a standalone café, along with meeting rooms fitted with the latest audio visual equipment.
"We are very excited to be opening our first UK hotel in Cambridge" said Bryan O'Callaghan , chief executive of O'Callaghan Hotels Group. "The Tamburlaine will be a great addition to the community and we hope to establish it as much as a place to meet up for locals as it will be for business and leisure travellers."
The O'Callaghan chain currently operates hotels in Dublin, Gibraltar and the US.
A spokeswoman for Brookgate, the property development company at the centre of the scheme, described the Tamburlaine as a significant milestone in the development of CB1.
