Hilton Worldwide guests choose room view with help of Google
Hilton Worldwide has teamed up with Google Maps to allow guests the opportunity to identify the view from a hotel bedroom prior to booking.
The facility is available to the 52 million members of the Hilton HHonours loyalty scheme via an app. It is an extension of the existing ability of loyalty members to be able to select the exact room they want.
Available only to Hilton HHonours members who book direct through Hilton Worldwide, the new technology will enable guests to select rooms with the best view as well as avoid those that look onto a busy road or a blank wall.
Mark Weinstein, senior vice-president and global head of loyalty and partnerships, Hilton Worldwide, said that the technology empowered members to have more control over their hotel stay.
"Guest preferences continue to evolve and, thanks to our digital innovations and category-leading partners like Google, we're providing even more personalized experiences for our Hilton HHonors members."
Megan Boundey, product manager of Google Maps, added that the technology enabled guests to receive the information they require in "a simple and intuitive way."
Digital check-in with room selection is available at more than 4,500 Hilton Worldwide hotels across 13 brands.
