Nine rescued after blaze rips through London hotel

Firefighters had to rescue at least nine people after a blaze tore through a London hotel last night.

The fire broke out at the 22-bedroom Rushmore hotel in Trebovir Road in Earl's Court and four people were rescued from the property.

Another three were helped from a hotel next door and two from the roof of a neighbouring property.

Ten fire engineers and 72 firefighters were called in to tackle the blaze, which started at 9.45pm on Sunday, according to the http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/earls-court-fire-nine-rescued-as-blaze-rips-through-the-rushmore-hotel-in-west-london-a3264216.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">London Evening Standard.

At one stage 100% of the second floor of the hotel, 20% of the third floor and 10% of the roof were alight according to the fire brigade.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be looked into by fire investigators.
