Roomzzz Aparthotels arrives in London

Roomzzz Aparthotel is to make its entrance on the competitive London hotel market scene with the opening of a state-of-the-art property in Stratford, near Olympic Park, in March 2017.

The £8m new-build will have 87 apartments combining the style of a boutique hotel with the convenience of a serviced apartment. Each will feature a kitchen, separate living area, free Wi-Fi and work and eating area. In reception there will be the brand's Essentialzzz convenience store, which sells everything from toiletries to ready meals, plus Grab & Go, which offers a complimentary selection of pastries, muffins, fruit and hot and cold drinks.

The company estimates that the opening will create 20 new jobs, with roles ranging from porters to managers and cleaners to concierge.

Roomzzz, which launched in 2006 and already has sites in Chester, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham, plus three sites in Leeds, is stepping up its expansion plans. Three sites are planned for Liverpool, Manchester Corn Exchange and York.

Chief operating officer Mark Walton, who was promoted to the role in April, said: "As our first venture in London, the hotel's opening is a major milestone for Roomzzz Aparthotels as a brand, raising our profile and appealing to a new audience."
