Kelis to take over Le Bun at Leicester House
Milkshake singer Kelis will be taking over the Le Bun restaurant at Leicester House next month for four days.
The takeover, KELISxLEBUN, sees the singer taking the reins of the London restaurant on 6, 7, 13 and 14 July before hitting Standon Calling festival in Hertfordshire, where she is performing and Le Bun are serving food.
For the duration of the collaboration, the pop-up restaurant will serve its burgers in South American-style arepa buns made from dried corn. No further details about the menu have yet been announced.
Kelis was trained at the Le Cordon Bleu school. She released a cookbook, My Life On A Plate, in 2014 and has released her own range of sauces, Bounty & Full. The burger restaurant Le Bun has been in long-term residency at Soho's Leicester House since April.
Kelis told NME: "I've been looking forward to bringing my cooking to London for years. This July I'm over for lots of festivals and it's the perfect time to finally make this pop-up restaurant dream a reality. The Le Bun guys are the perfect partners and I can't wait for everyone to have a taste."
It has not been confirmed whether milkshakes will be on the menu.
