Henry Harris departs Dog & Badger due to ‘artistic differences'

Former Racine chef Henry Harris has departed the Dog & Badger bar and restaurant he was planning to re-launch this month due to "artistic differences".

He leaves his role as chef-patron at the Buckinghamshire venue after the re-launch was pushed back from May to July. He had been working with owners Nick and Jane Robinson ahead of taking the reins of the restaurant's kitchen this month and the opening of six new suites at the site next week.

Harris was chef/restaurateur at Racine in London's Knightsbridge for 13 years until 2015 when he sold the business and resigned as a director. Harris remains consultant to the Groucho Club in London.

Sam Walton, former sous chef at London's Bibendum, has taken over as head chef and Mo Hoffelner as manager. Hoffelner previously worked at Harvey Nichols' Fifth Floor restaurant, the Hand & Flowers and both the White Oak and the Belgian Arms in Berkshire.

Walton said: "I will be broadening the menu and extending it with some British and European classics so there will be something for everyone." The focus will continue to be on fresh, locally sourced produce.
