Mercure Hotels appoints three new general managers

Three hotels owned by Amaris Hospitality and managed by AccorHotels under its midmarket Mercure brand have announced new general managers.

Chris Hull has taken over as general manager at the 225-bedroom Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower, after moving from the same role at the Mercure Chester Abbots Well hotel.

A graduate of the Accor UK Management Development Programme, Karin Snoek has moved into her first general manager position at the 121-bedroom Mercure Dartford Brands Hatch hotel. She has previously worked in senior managerial roles with Mercure in Bristol and Oxford.

Sebastien Brunet has been appointed general manager of the 83-bedroom Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian hotel, having worked in previous roles within Mercure properties in Stratford-upon-Avon and Aberdeen.

Meanwhile, Andy Bellamy has been appointed as area general manager for Mercure, joining the AccorHotels brand after previously having worked for Amaris Hospitality, managing hotels under Jurys Inn and Hilton Garden Inn brands. Earlier in his career, Bellamy worked for Louvre Hotels and Golden Tulip.

In October 2015 it was announced that the three hotels - previously operating as Thistle hotels - would become Mercure properties as part of Amaris Hospitality's decision to undertake a £100m rebranding of 21 hotels within the Hotel Collection. Following a management agreement signed with AccorHotels, 11 of the hotels have since joined the Mercure portfolio.
