Police called as customers storm KFC to steal chicken

Police were called to a KFC restaurant in London's Finsbury Park after customers leapt over the counter to steal fried chicken.

Crowds formed after revellers who had left the nearby Wireless Festival on Sunday tried to jump the queue.

Staff refused to serve the queue jumpers, who then leapt over the counter to help themselves.

One festivalgoer told the http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/chaos-as-kfc-customers-leap-over-counter-to-steal-chicken-after-wireless-festival-in-finsbury-park-a3292901.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Evening Standard that about 12 customers pushed past the crowd before some jumped over the counter and started raiding the chicken.

She said: "I had been to Wireless and not eaten all day so went to get KFC. I was queuing for ages, which was expected as it was so busy

"After about 15 minutes of queuing two men came in all rowdy, pushing past everyone.

"As everyone was being pushed the KFC staff refused to serve any more people. They stood back from the counter and wouldn't serve anyone.

"Then one member of staff said he was going to call the police because of how rowdy everyone was getting. I was literally so squashed at the front."

The police arrived in a few minutes but it is not known whether the chicken thieves were caught.
