Punch Taverns announces partnership with Just Eat

Pub operator Punch has partnered with Just Eat, the digital marketplace for takeaway food delivery, to offer its customers new services.

During a trial period across Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, Punch pubs without catering facilities will now be able to give customers the opportunity to order food from the local area via Just Eat and have it delivered to the pub. The pubs will offer cutlery for customers to eat their takeaway.

Another trial initiative will see two Punch pubs in Yorkshire which currently offer food give customers takeaway menus and encourage home delivery. The takeaway and delivery menus will be based on the most popular dishes from the range.

Steve Kite, catering development manager for Punch Taverns, said: "This partnership with Just Eat is an exciting opportunity for Punch and our publicans. For those who do not currently have a food offering, it has the potential to drive new footfall as well as increase trade from existing customers in wet-led pubs as drinkers can now become diners."

Managing director of Just Eat UK, Graham Corfield, said: "At Just Eat we're always looking at ways to enhance the customer experience, offering people more choice and variety - whether that's providing a range of different cuisines to choose from or providing flexibility in how people order and pay for their food. This initiative opens up more opportunities for both Punch and Just Eat customers to order food in a way and place that suits them."
