Biscuits Bouvard Group acquires Pidy
Ready-to-fill pastry specialist Pidy has been acquired by French operator Biscuits Bouvard Group.
Biscuits Bouvard has been operating in the private business sector for 25 years and has a large presence in Europe, with production centres in France and one in Italy.
Pidy has production sites in Belgium, France and the US and hopes the merger will bring its products to a previously untapped market.
Robert Whittle, Pidy UK's general manager, said: "Being part of a larger family-owned group brings the UK business a huge wealth of potential. Plans for the future roll-out of private label biscuits bring significant development to our expansion plans but moreover it has been made clear by the Bouvard management that they see pastry innovation as the key to continued growth in the Pidy range with investment plans in new product development, plant and machinery having already begun in earnest."
The takeover is the next stage in the business's growth, giving current Pidy CEO Thierry Dehaeck the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day running of the business.
