Hotel Café Royal and Set hotels grow senior sales team

Hotel Café Royal and the Set hotel collection have announced a number of new appointments to their senior sales team to strengthen the group's position as "a leader in the luxury hospitality market".

The hotel (pictured) is one of three Set properties, including the Conservatorium in Amsterdam and Hotel Lutetia in Paris (due to open in 2017), owned by Alrov Properties, an Israeli company owned by property and design entrepreneurs Alfred and Georgi Akirov.

Laura Cammarano has been appointed the Café Royal's director of sales, having previously worked as assistant director of sales at Maybourne Hotel Group.

Sasha Taylor, now director of groups and events for the hotel, spent five years on the events team at Claridge's and more recently has worked on social events at the Rosewood London.

Café Royal's new senior sales manager for leisure and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) is Franziska Lein, who was previously at the Mandarin Oriental in Paris.

Set hotels has also appointed Andreas Bergfeld as account director of corporate markets. He joins from his role as senior corporate sales manager from the Corinthia hotel in London.

And Rohit Gupta has been appointed as the collection's regional director of sales for the Middle East, moving from the Café Royal as sales director.

The new appointments are the latest since former Claridge's general manager Thomas Kochs was appointed managing director of the 160-bedroom Hotel Café Royal in February.

Kochs said: "We are delighted to welcome these new members to our wonderful team at the hotel, and are proud to announce a new position focused on the Middle Eastern market for Rohit Gupta. I am sure the new appointments will only make our position as a leader in the luxury hospitality market stronger."
