The Connaught Bar announced as World's Best Cocktail Bar
London's Connaught hotel is celebrating after a double triumph at the 10th Annual Spirited Awards during the Tales of the Cocktail festival in New Orleans.
The Connaught Bar at the five-red-AA-star, 121-bedroom hotel was named the World's Best Cocktail Bar and Best International Hotel Bar.
Launched in 2008 and designed by David Collins Studio, the bar provides an innovative twist to traditional cocktails and has created a signature Martini Trolley.
Agostino Perrone, director of mixology for The Connaught said: "We are honoured and delighted to accept these awards in such celebrated company with my fellow barmen from around the globe. When we first opened the Connaught Bar we wanted to create a bar with a spirit of hospitality and innovation and we have tried to continue to inspire and create magic for our guests over the years. These awards are all about teamwork and I look forward to raising a glass with my wonderful team at the Connaught."
Also on the night, the American Bar at the Savoy picked up the Best International Bar Team award; Dandelyan, located in the Mondrian London hotel, South Bank won the award for World's Best Cocktail menu and Oriole bar, a subterranean cocktail bar in Smithfield Markets was named Best New International Cocktail Bar.
