Llangollen hotel back in administration due to ‘health and safety' concerns
A Llangollen hotel is back in administration due to "health and safety" concerns, leaving 45 employees redundant and all bookings cancelled.
Llangollen's Wild Pheasant hotel was closed by administrators yesterday, but no further details as to why have been confirmed.
The 46-bedroom hotel in Denbighshire, north Wales, was owned and run by O&S Hotels, which bought the hotel for £2.1m out of administration in 2012. It was previously owned by entrepreneur Stephanie Booth's Llangollen Hotels group, which went into administration in 2011.
Valuation and corporate finance advisor firm Duff & Phelps will be handling the administration of the hotel. It is looking to sell the property and invited any registrations of interest.
Steve Muncaster, managing director of Duff & Phelps and joint administrator, said: "We're conscious that in the busy holiday period there will be many disappointed to hear about the closure of the hotel. Anyone with an existing booking should get in touch with us and those that have paid in advance for bookings on credit or debit card should contact their provider for potential refunds."
