Strada launches apprenticeships across 31 restaurants
Italian restaurant chain Strada hopes to boost staff retention by launching an apprenticeship programme across its 31-strong portfolio.
The 12-month bespoke training courses, which will be offered both in the kitchen and front of house and at all levels up to senior chefs and managers, will be open to nearly 700 Strada employees. Hospitality training provider Lifetime Training will oversee the scheme.
The qualifications on offer include Food & Beverage Level 2, Food Production & Cooking Level 2, Kitchen Services Level 2, Team Leading Level 2 and Hospitality Supervision & Leadership Level 3.
Esher Williams, head of people at Strada, said: "We want Strada to be recognised as an employer who cares about its team and invests in their future. The new development programme will dovetail our internal training calendar and sit within our new training infrastructure, boosting staff retention by delivering increased job satisfaction for our employees."
Julie Proctor, hospitality accounts director at Lifetime Training, added: "This is a new partnership for Lifetime and we're delighted to be working with such a highly respected business. We're looking forward to developing the Strada team and further building the brand."
Strada was acquired by Sun Capital, headed by Hugh Osmond, from Tragus Group for £37m in 2014.
