pictured) and the Ballachulish hotel, both on Scotland's west coast - for a seven-figure sum, increasing its portfolio to six.
The company has operated the two venues since 2014, taking over from Akkeron Hotels after it went into administration. The group already owns the Crieff Hydro hotel in Perthshire, the Murraypark hotel in Crieff, the Peebles Hydro hotel and the Park hotel in Peebles.
The 59-bedroom Isles of Glencoe hotel was built in the 1990s on the shoreline of Loch Leven at the foot of Glencoe, while the 53-bedroom Ballachulish hotel has been located on the banks of Loch Linnhe for more than 100 years. Crieff Hydro plans to invest in both hotels, previously owned by Freedom Hotels, starting this autumn with bedroom improvements.
Stephen Leckie, chief executive of Crieff Hydro, said: "These two hotels complement the existing collection we own. Their family feel, great locations, access to beautiful scenery and warm homely feeling just make them a perfect fit. We have proven so far that with local management and involving people who are passionate about Scotland in the business, they can be a great success. We look forward to seeing these businesses continue to grow."
