Clean wins Health and Safety Gold Award
Independent laundry company Clean has been awarded a Health and Safety Gold Award by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
To qualify for the award, companies must be able to demonstrate well developed health and safety management systems, the ability to identify potential hazards, exceptional risk control and low levels of error, harm and loss.
Clean adhered to these guidelines by implementing the Safety Total Observation Process (STOP) programme, which is led by the general manager of each laundry and involves walking the factory floor to identify and resolve any hazards that may pose a risk.
The STOP programme has so far prevented over 1,000 risks that could have caused an accident, according to Clean.
Bob King, Clean's chief operating officer, who fronted the STOP Programme said: "This award is a fantastic result for Clean and recognition of all the efforts the site teams, health and safety committees, and employees have made over the last year. This puts us alongside some world-leading companies and recognises the continued improvements we have made in our health and safety systems and processes."
