A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors

Ivy Clifton Brasserie

The Ivy Clifton Brasserie has opened with a modern British menu inspired by the original Ivy in Covent Garden, London. The restaurant is set in the Clifton and Hotwells conservation area of Bristol, overlooking the Mall Gardens.

The spacious Georgian building has a portico entrance, domed wall-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings and brass chandeliers. The design features diamond-patterned black, tan and cream floor tiling, dark wood period furniture, navy and tan leather chairs and brass fixtures and fittings. Eight tan leather and black iron high-backed stools skirt the bar, and antique mirrors line the walls, along with an eclectic collection of prints reflecting period drawings of Bristolian architecture and its railway heritage, the rivers Severn and Avon, and port scenes.
