IoH webinars to include how to capitalise on Brexit's silver lining

The Institute of Hospitality is to host a series of webinars with the opening session focussing on how to capitalise on the fallout from the EU referendum.

With prices close to 30% lower than two years ago for American tourists, record breaking levels of visitors are expected and the webinar will explore how operators can capitalise on this boom.

Institute of Hospitality chief executive Peter Ducker said: "American tourists have always been our biggest spenders. Now that they will be arriving in greater numbers, there is no better time to fine-tune our customer service skills in order to wow these guests and keep them coming back. We are delighted to kick-start our webinar season with Simon Hudson, a distinguished hospitality expert from the University of South Carolina, who will deliver his unique insights into what American tourists are looking for."

Other webinars in the series will include how to use customer data, allergen labelling and employment law.

A session on modern slavery will also be curated to highlight how hotels can unwittingly provide a safe haven for human traffickers and their victims. It will explain what hospitality employees can do to prevent, mitigate and eliminate the risk of modern slavery in their businesses.

Ducker added: "In our fast-moving and constantly evolving sector, the Institute of Hospitality is here to support you through every stage of your career with support and advice. Our members are amongst the best informed and best connected hospitality professionals in the world."

The webinars will last around 30 minutes and delegates will be able to ask questions of presenters and receive follow-up materials. To take part in the webinars go to: www.instituteofhospitality.org/events/webinars/webinar_series
