Brú Brewery goes for gold at World Beer Awards

Brú Brewery, based in Trim, Co Meath, has been awarded four gold medals at the 2016 World Beer Awards.

Dave O'Hare from BrÁº Brewery said: "We wanted to brew a great tasting lager that everyone could enjoy, including my mum who is a coeliac, so winning two gold medals is testament to the BrÁº team ethos of doing whatever it takes to perfect our gluten-free lager; and my mum's bravery during those early test batches!"

BrÁº Brewery's Irish craft IPA BrÁº RÁ took the Country Winner award.

Daire Harlin, brewer at BrÁº Brewery said: "These awards really top off what has been an incredible year for us at BrÁº Brewery. Over the course of the last 12 months we have commissioned our new brewery, opened our first BrÁº House pub and expanded the BrÁº team. And looking ahead we have even more exciting plans for the next 12 months.

"We are absolutely honoured to have won these awards across our core range of lager, stout, IPA and red ale. We believe this recognises the obsession that our BrÁº team has towards brewing the finest hand-crafted beers made from local ingredients".

The World Beer Awards is a competition that recognises the world's best beers.
