Soho House & Co unveils latest venture in Barcelona
Barcelona is to be the next location for the opening of a hotel and club from Soho House & Co, with the launch of a 57-bedroom property in early October.
Located in an 18th century building in the Gothic district of the city overlooking Port Vell Marina and the Mediterranean Sea, the property will feature a gym, Cowshed spa with indoor swimming pool, rooftop swimming pool and screening room.
The two restaurants will include the Spanish-influenced House Kitchen and Cecconi's Barcelona, which will serve dishes from northern Italy.
Soho House's in-house design team is creating the interiors for the property, which is being inspired by Barcelona's artistic culture, featuring Art Noveau detailing and Spanish inspired furniture.
Soho House Barcelona will become the 17th club for the company, which also operates 16 restaurant brands.
The original Soho House at 40 Greek Street, which was opened by the company's founder and 2015 Hotelier of the Year Nick Jones in 1995, is currently closed while undergoing expansion and refurbishment. It will reopen in spring 2018, while other future launches are planned in the UK in London (Kettners Town House in Soho and within the former BBC Television Centre in Shepherd's Bush) and Brighton; as well as overseas in Amsterdam, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Next year will also see the opening of one of company's most ambitious projects to date - the 252-Ned hotel, which will feature nine restaurants and bars, in the City of London. The project is a joint venture between Soho House and US hotel owner and developer Sydell group.
Bookings are now open for Soho House Barcelona, which will welcome guests from 4 October.
