Simpsons and Sticky Walnut to collaborate for one-off dinner
Simpsons in Birmingham has announced a collaboration with Chester-based restaurant, Sticky Walnut, on 7 November.
Luke Tipping, chef director at the Michelin-starred Simpsons, visited Sticky Walnut recently and "could not fault his experience".
Simpsons' head chef Nathan Eades backed the decision to take the restaurant to Birmingham. He said: "As my favourite restaurant to go to, I'm really looking forward to this collaboration."
A five-course menu for the event is yet to be released.
Sticky Walnut, which is owned by restauranteur Gary Usher, won Menu of the Year at the 2013 Catey and was voted AA Restaurant of the Year 2014-2015. Usher also owns Burnt Truffle in Wirral and the soon-to-open Hispi in Didsbury.
Michelin-starred restaurant Simpsons underwent a refurbishment last year to extend its main dining area. Following this, Simpsons has introduced events such as an upcoming Eureka night which will give staff the freedom to create dishes on the day for a handful of customers.
Tipping said: "It's been an incredibly exciting year for Simpsons and in recent weeks I've had time to take stock and truly appreciate how far we've moved on since the refurbishment last autumn. Simpsons has a new approach, new style and new energy."
