Manchester's Filthy Cow closes
Manchester's bar and burger joint Filthy Cow is closing so owner Jordan Gallimore can "focus on other business interests".
The 72-cover restaurant is already closed for renovation works and it is unclear whether it will reopen. Christie & Co is seeking offers in the region of £25,000 for a quick sale of the site leasehold.
Located on Tib Lane, the restaurant opened in early 2015, taking over the former Lounge Ten. Entrepreneur Jordan Gallimore set up the restaurant backed by two existing business owners in Manchester. She spent 12 months researching the burger world to identify a gap in the market, with time also spent in kitchens of various restaurants and diners.
The venue is described as having a "farmyard industrial crossed Soho-neon" interior, including stripped-back floorboards, exposed brickwork and graffiti art. The trading area of the business is spread across three floors, with the main kitchen, food preparation area, free-standing seating and a food service bar located on the ground floor. There is a split-level open trade area on the first floor with booth seating and free-standing tables and chairs, and further seating on the third floor. There is also an on-site cellar alongside customer toilets, staff rooms, and a spacious area for goods.
Ashley Cobban, business agent at Christie & Co's Manchester office is handling the sale. He said: "The current owner now feels it's time to sell the business and focus her attentions elsewhere. This presents a fantastic opportunity for a new owner/operator to take over an already established and successful business and continue along its success, further increasing trade and profit."
