Cau MD departs Gaucho Group amid restructure

The Gaucho Group has announced the immediate departure of Graham Hall, managing director of Cau, amid a company restructure.

Hall has been managing director of Cau, the group's casual dining brand, since January 2014, before which he was the brand's operations director. He took over from Charlie McLean, who stepped down from the role in 2013. Hall will be succeeded by Richard Clark, currently Cau's operations director.

Tracey Matthews, currently MD at Gaucho, will have an immediate expanded role as chief operating office across the Gaucho and Cau brands, while Suresh Banarse's role has been expanded to global HR director across both brands.

Zeev Godik, CEO of the Group, said it will shortly be confirming a new MD for Gaucho.

He added: "We have taken this opportunity to restructure the group in order to ensure Gaucho and Cau are in the best possible position for both brands to grow and develop successfully."

Founded in 2012 by the same team as Argentine brand Gaucho, Cau specialises in grass-fed beef, twice-cooked pork belly and fresh chicken, and has 17 sites, including outlets in Liverpool, Guildford, Bristol and Cambridge. Argentinian steak restaurant Gaucho has 14 UK sites.
