Comptoir Group to open six sites in three months

Lebanese chain Comptoir Group has announced that it will open six new restaurants in the next three months as the group steps up its expansion following stock market flotation in June.

The group raised £8m to expand its portfolio this summer, saying at the time that it planned 50 new restaurants in the next five years.

Comptoir Group has now confirmed the opening on three new regional Comptoir Libanais restaurants as well as three London sites.

It is to take on the former Yo! Sushi site on Soho's Poland Street, opening mid-September, with a site on Kensington's Gloucester Road opening in November and a site in John Lewis's flagship Oxford Street store slated for in October.

Outside of the capital Comptoir Libanais will open a 180-cover Exeter site in late September, a 170-cover Bath restaurant in October and a 120-cover site in Trinity Leeds shopping centre in November.

All of its stand-alone sites offer takeaway and delivery as well as an all day menu of Lebanese food.

Chief executive Chaker Hanna said: "We are delighted to be rolling out six new sites with even more planned for next year. We've seen a real increase in demand for the fresh, nutritious and affordable food we offer so are excited to showcase the best of Lebanese cuisine to new local communities, businesses and families. We look forward to opening our doors to lots of mezze-lovers!"
