Hawksmoor chefs to launch the Grill at McQueen
Restaurant and bar McQueen in London's Shoreditch will be opening a steak restaurant at the venue next month.
The Grill at McQueen will offer a menu created by former Hawksmoor head chef Richard Sandiford, who will work in a consultancy capacity for the new restaurant. He will help devise dishes and train the kitchen team.
Meanwhile, the kitchen for the 50-cover restaurant, which will be open for lunch and dinner, will be headed up by Richard James who also previously worked at Hawksmoor.
Sandiford, executive head chef, the Grill at McQueen, said: "I'm really excited to be part of this new venture at McQueen, and have created a menu that highlights the very best of the seasonal produce in the UK.
"Each ingredient comes from suppliers that I have worked with over the years, and all are locally sourced - even the bread comes from just around the corner at the Dusty Knuckle Bakery in Hackney. Guests can expect some really special cuts of meat at the Grill."
In addition to a selection of steaks, the restaurant will offer a variety of drinks including wines, bourbons, whiskeys and cocktails.
The Grill at McQueen will officially open on Tuesday 4 October following a soft launch from 27 September to 1 October.
