Digital Vision Awards winners revealed

Oddfellows hotel and Zizzi restaurants are among those honoured by The Caterer's inaugural Digital Vision Awards (DiVAs).

The awards recognise the operators, software vendors and suppliers who are behind the hospitality industry's best content, technology and marketing initiatives.

With eccentricity at its heart, the Oddfellows website was considered by the judges to perfectly reflect the colourful and quirky nature of the business. It scooped the Best Hotel User Experience and Overall Website Experience of the Year awards for its interesting and different site, which represented the personality and character of the business while also delivering significant conversions.

The Best Restaurant/Pub User Experience award went to Zizzi for its new site, which has tapped into customer behaviour and spending habits to increase engagement and the appetite for specific offers.

Meanwhile, the Digital Achievement/Innovation award went to En Route International for its Crew Nosh app, which enables airline crew members to choose and order their in-flight meal, and have it delivered straight to the plane in a personalised box. Crew are also able to order any optional extras, and pay for those not within their allocation using the app's integrated payment system. Their order is then processed, the food is packed and delivered to the crew member on board.

The Caterer deputy editor James Stagg said: "The winners of our first Digital Vision Awards show that there is some real innovation in the hospitality industry. I'd like to thank all our entrants and of course our judges for analysing the projects and initiatives with such enthusiasm."
