Openings this week: Yosma, Fumo, Burlock Rum Room and more

A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors

Yosma

Yosma, a new restaurant and bar, has opened in Marylebone, London. Inspired by Istanbul's social and eating out culture, it features an open kitchen with mangal grill and counter dining, restaurant and raki lounge bar.

Materials reflect a traditional meyhane, or tavern with a bespoke patterned tiling, traditional timber cabinetry and screening. Local artist Neal Fox has been commissioned to produce the restaurant's artwork. The colour palette is monochrome, with table tops accented in deep wood and dirty pink marble.

The menu is divided into cold meze, hot starters, mangal, clay oven and sides, with many items pit-roasted over coal and a focus on classic Istanbul dishes. Whole fish, coming from day boats in Cornwall, will be cooked over the fire. Raki will play an important part on the drinks list and the cocktail menu, while the menu also features Turkish wines, Efes beers and a rotating draught guest ale.

Fumo

San Carlo Group has launched a new Fumo in London's Covent Garden. The culinary focus will be on small plates, or cicchetti, using fresh, seasonal ingredients, mostly sourced direct from markets in Milan.

The Anchor

Pub operator Andrew Coath of Epic Pubs and Bedfordshire brewer Charles Wells have reopened the Anchor at Aspley Guise near Milton Keynes, following a £600,000 refurbishment.

Burlock Rum Room

The Burlock Rum Room in Marylebone, London, is the latest addition to the Breakfast Group's portfolio of bars. Old Havana-style interiors complement the 200 rums available. A vintage-styled lounge is at the heart of the bar, and an old-style barber shop doubles up as a drinking area.

Farmopolis Café

Kofler & Kompanie has opened Farmopolis Café, a floating garden on the jetty at Greenwich Peninsula, south-east London, following its 2013 opening of the Magazine restaurant at Serpentine Sackler Gallery. Working in partnership with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Farmopolis has rehomed thousands of plants and trees from this year's show, transforming the jetty into a green oasis surrounded by the Thames. Farmopolis was built using sustainable and recycled materials as much as possible, with polytunnel fixtures supporting wooden planters and a herb wall garden next to the kitchen.
