Clayton Hotel Chiswick unveils £21m expansion

The four-AA-star, 227-bedroom Clayton Hotel Chiswick has unveiled a £21m extension and refurbishment, which has created 25 new jobs.

The hotel, owned by Irish company Dalata Hotel Group, has added 104 bedrooms and redesigned the ground floor to create a vibrant open space with a reception alongside the Globe bar, a Grill restaurant, coffee outlet, lounge and 10 meeting rooms. The hotel also features a refitted gym with Precor USA equipment.

The new interior has been created by Alan McClure of Glasgow-based design practice Cunningham McLean.

Thomas Doyle, general manager, said the new look hotel had been designed for today's guests.

The investment in the hotel follows its acquisition by Dalata as part of the wider £324m purchase of nine hotels from Moran Bewley's Hotel Group in February 2015. Three months later the property was rebadged under the Clayton brand, which is currently made up of 13 hotels in the UK and Ireland.

Dalata - Ireland's largest hotel operator - has a total portfolio of 40 owned, leased and managed properties split between two brands: Clayton (mid-market) and Maldron (budget).
