Eden Hotel Collection to launch Arden House in Stratford-upon-Avon
The Eden Hotel Collection is to relaunch the 10-bedroom hotel it bought in Stratford-upon-Avon 10 months ago as a boutique property.
Arden House will open on 1 November as a home-from-home, where 24-hour service will be available. There will be no restaurant, but there will be a fully-fitted kitchen where a chef will prepare breakfast and afternoon tea (included in the room price) and guests will gather around an informal dining table.
Also included are snacks in the help-yourself pantry, while guests can select drinks from an honesty bar.
Eden said that the style of Arden House reflects the current trend which is moving from a more structured hotel environment to one with "a laid-back atmosphere, more fluidity and choice for guests".
The refurbishment of the property has been undertaken by Eden's in-house team, headed by Marian Cartter, Eden's design director.
"Arden House has been an extremely rewarding project to work on, and it has been exciting to watch this elegant town house be transformed into a beautiful space that is consistent in design and quality with all the hotels across the collection," said Cartter.
Arden House, which was acquired by Eden for around £1m from the Young family in December 2015, will become a sister property to the four-AA-star, 45-bedroom Arden hotel. Both properties are jointly owned by Eden and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Room rates start from £229.
On the opening of Arden House, the Eden Hotel Collection will expand to a portfolio of nine hotels, which include Mallory Court, Leamington Spa Worcestershire; the Greenway hotel and spa, Cheltenham; and Bovey Castle resort and spa, Dartmoor, Devon.
