New World Trading Company reports 70% rise in sales

Pub and restaurant group New World Trading Company (NWTC), has seen a sales increase of 70% to £30.1m with company EBITDA increasing 63% to £3.5m in the year to the end of March 2016.

This year, NWTC opened seven new sites around the UK including four Botanist sites in Birmingham; Marlow, Buckinghamshire; Farnham, Surrey; and Knutsford, Cheshire; two new Trading House sites in London and Glasgow; and the Club House in Liverpool.

In June 2016, NWTC was sold to private equity firm Graphite Capital for £50m. The company, which was part of the Living Ventures Group founded by Jeremy Roberts and Tim Bacon in 2011, operates 15 pubs and restaurants around the country.

NWTC managing director Chris Hill said: "From an early stage we knew that NWTC was a special business. The plan was to build the business as a standalone entity, with investment from Living Ventures and Hill Capital Partners/LDC, who bought into the business in 2013.

"The plan from here is to grow in a sensible way, continuing to shape the business as we have done from the start, and to build on the foundations. Eventually, as is the way of these things, there will be another process. But we are in no rush, and when the time comes, we know who to call."
